Our Story

Timber Alchemy Designs was founded on the ethos of producing beautiful and unique wood products. We use only the finest materials and traditional techniques to ensure our furniture lasts. We have a holistic approach to sustainable production; from designs that minimize materials, upcycling/ reuse of materials, use of FSC certified or reclaimed timber, and using eco friendly finishes. We work to highlight the natural beauty of wood in all our products and support the beauty of nature through our focus on sustainability.

To help ensure that the worlds forests are maintained for our enjoyment, wildlife and continued sustainable production of timber, each purchase made plants a tree to help reforest the planet.

About the Artisan

In the summer of 2020, Timber Alchemy Designs founder, Neil O’Brien, found himself with the opportunity of a fresh start after being laid off from Construction Management due to impacts from COVID. Neil had been making furniture off and on since highschool, but with the demands of a full time career, had not had the time to start woodworking professionally. With this new free time and the desire to spend more time with his couch coyote, Aggie, and share his furniture designs with the world, Timber Alchemy Designs was born.

When not working in the shop, or drafting new designs Neil can be found with his Girlfriend Jackie and puppy out mountain biking, skiing or just being in nature in the presence of trees.
